Katy Perry New Album "Prism" Coming October 22!

Katy Perry New Album "Prism" Coming October 22!

Katy Perry takes it to the street to reveal her new album title "Prism", on the side of a gold semi-truck. This post is for all the Katycats and Teenage Dreamers everywhere,. Singer Katy Perry has had quite the busy week! She stopped by the Smurfs 2 premiere Sunday, became the most followed female on Twitter, and she was announced as a headliner for the iHeartRadio music festival September 21st. So I knew something was up.  I also remember back in April that Katy was hard at work on a new album and had written a song with  Bonnie McKee called "Double Rainbow". So on July 29th Katy confirmed my suspicions about the new album! A giant flashy gold prism, I mean, semi-truck was rolling around Los Angeles with simple black words on it "KATY PERRY PRISM OCT 22, 2013". What a way to announce a new album, and I like the creativity. And don't worry you might be a chance to see the announcement truck yourself. Last night Katy tweeted, "Find the #PRISM semi, take a picture and I'll RT you. Don't worry, Los Angeles is just the first stop on the map." Since LA is filled with celebrities, guess who was one of the first people to see the truck? None other than Adam Lambert! He tweeted, "Yes @KatyPerry this is crazy!! Love it!" along with a pic of his semi spotting. And as for a first single from the album, nothing is confirmed yet but I've heard rumors it will come in August and might be her "Double Rainbow" song I've already mentioned. Katy previously confirmed another track name is called "Bad Photographs", and has described her whole album as "Schizophrenic". Or was she talking about Amanda Bynes? Anyways, other details I know is that she has collaborated on the new record with pals Max Martin, Dr. Luke, Sia, Diplo and of course Bonnie McKee. I will keep you updated on all Prism updates, in anticipation of the October 22nd release. The Holiday season is looking bright already with Katy's new album and Lady Gaga's ARTPOP album dropping in November. And I have high hopes; this is Katy Perry after all. Her last album "Teenage Dream" made history with five No. 1 singles and in 2012 was Billboard's Woman of the Year. Your turn! Comment below and tell me what you think of the title 'Prism' and what that means for the album?!

I have a lot to cover on this post so bare with me. The legendary girl group TLC will be releasing not only a biopic on VH1 but also a Greatest Hits album on October 15 featuring a new song written and produced by Lady Gaga! A demo of Gaga singing the new song titled "Posh Life" hit the web. The piano ballad really showcasing Gaga's vocals with uplifting lyrics that start with, "He went to them, they turned away/ He just wanted something to eat/ A place to love, a place to pray" and the chorus inspires with the lines, "We live a Posh Life/ We're nothing but our leather and our dreams/ You gotta trust in the future of us, believe". Seems like Gaga really channeled TLC in the song and we also hear a hint of the their classic track, "Unpretty". I absolutely cannot wait to hear TLC sing the new Gaga track when it hits later this year! In other Gaga news,. Now let's recap what else happened this week: Gaga's upcoming V Magazine shoot will show a completely nude  Gaga. From gorgeous to rich, this week Forbes revealed Lady Gaga is the top-earning celebrity under 30, beating out Justin Bieber at 2nd place. And what would a Gaga update be without some ARTPOP news? This week Tara Savelo revealed the first single will be "APPLAUSE" in a photo posted to which sees Gaga painting on a canvas with the word "APPLAUSE" at the top. How do I know it's the first single? The caption to the photo read "26 Days" which counts down to the announced song release date, August 19th. And finally, MTV announced what we already suspected: Lady Gaga will perform her new ARTPOP single at the VMAs in Brooklyn on August 25th!  Gaga showed her excitement about the show by retweeting a fan on Twitter that said, "EVERYONE LOVES A VMA COMEBACK". Phew, that's it for this week Little Monsters! Check out the link to the Gaga "Posh Life" demo below and comment below if you think this is a perfect TLC song or should it actually be on ARTPOP?

Listen to Gaga's demo "Posh Life":

DJ Khaled known for songs like "We Takin' Over" has used MTV as a vehicle to propose to the one-and-only Nicki Minaj. In a romantic one and a half minute video DJ Khaled professes his love to Nicki, sitting serious on a holding a ring box. Khaled starts by saying, "Nicki Minaj I'm at MTV I wanna be honest with you, I love you. I like you, I want you." And goes on to say the only reason he's not telling her this in person is cause he knows she's busy. "We got the same symptoms, we both suffer from success... I understand." Khaled also reveals he wants her fans to know, his family, her family and the whole world. As the video and sensual music come to a close he reveals the ring inside the box saying, "I been working hard to get this ring" and ends the clip with serious tone, "Nicki Minaj, will you marry me?"MTV claims Khaled is 100% serious with this proposal, he came to their NYC studio with this 10 karat diamond ring value at $500,000 dollars. Of course, we're dying to know what Nicki thinks of this proposal and if she's given Khaled an answer?!  Nicki did however,  retweet a tweet from her website announcing the special offer from DJ Khaled, but there has been no word on a response yet. 37-year-old Khaled and 30-year-old are longtime friends and recently got together to shoot Busta Rhymes music video for "Twerk It" and were seen goofing off together. But  Nicki has been known to keep her dating life super-secret, although there were rumors of her dating rapper Drake back in 2010. So naturally this Khaled proposal spawned a new set of Drake memes to buzz around the Internet and they are kinda hilarious. I'm dying to know what you guys think of this? Is Khaled being serious, and should Nicki say YES? Comment below and share your thoughts.

Beyoncé's Weave Gets Stuck In a Fan's Grasp At Concert---Check Out Video Below!

Beyoncé's Weave Gets Stuck In a Fan's Grasp At Concert---Check Out Video Below!
So people as most of you may know Beyoncé is on her Mrs. Carter Show world tour right now and last night July 22 she stopped to perform for the folks of Montreal. The ever perfect Beyoncé had a not-so-glam moment when her weave got stuck in a fan on the side of the stage! Too much whipping her hair back and forth? Not exactly. Bey was singing her touching song "Halo" when she saw a fan she wanted to say hello to in the audience. A source close to Beyoncé said she went down to the fan in an area of the audience she doesn't normally go. Leave it to Bey to do good for a fan, and another fan snatch her up! Reportedly the fan had a sign of her bucket list on it with all things checked off except "Sing with Beyoncé"! Beyoncé is known for letting fans get a second on the microphone during the show and help Beyoncé belt out one of her tunes. So how did the singer handle the snafu when it happened? Being the professional she is, Beyoncé kept belting out the song without missing a beat as her crew members tried to get her hair unstuck. Bey looked a little frustrated but kept singing when finally a crew member cut her hair from the wind blower with scissors!
Third Ward Trill is quite the trooper. And the jokester. After the show Beyoncé posted this photo on her Instagram re-writing the lyrics to "Halo" to reference her fan incident, "Gravity can't begiiin/ to pull me out of the fan again/ I felt my hair was yankiin/ From the fan that's always hatiiin" and ended with "I got snatched '2 snaps' Goodnight all, B".

"JAY Z and Justin Timberlake Dedicate "Forever Young" to Trayvon Martin at NYC Concert"

"JAY Z and Justin Timberlake Dedicate "Forever Young" to Trayvon Martin at NYC Concert"

They don't call it the Legends of The Summer Tour for nothing! Jay-Z and Justin Timberlake rocked the first of their sold-out shows, taking over the Yankee Stadium in NYC Friday night and paying tribute to Trayvon Martin while they were at it.

The duo saved the last song of their concert for the tribute, with Jay-Z and Timberlake performing a rendition of "Forever Young" in honor of the late teen.
"This is for Trayvon, so light up your cell phones New York!," Jay-Z yelled, with Timberlake adding, "One more time for Trayvon New York!"
In addition to their tribute, the pair brought along a couple of surprise performers, from Alicia Keys popping up during Jay-Z's performance of "Empire State of Mind," and Timbaland hitting the stage for Timberlake's 2006 hit "SexyBack."

And after the show was the after party!
Jay-Z, Beyoncé, Neyo, Meek Mill, and Fabolous all arrived at about 1:30 a.m. to the Jay-Z's 40/40 club in New York City.

Beyoncé was dressed very casual at the club, rocking curly hair, and sporting a button down long sleeve shirt with shorts and Christian Louboutin stilettos.
The power couple were spotted grabbing some food before the night was done, and Beyoncé got her groove on throughout the night, dancing with friends

Beyoncé Performs “Bow Down” For The First Time & Teases New Music Video

Beyoncé Performs “Bow Down” For The First Time & Teases New Music Video

Here’s an early morning double shot of Beyoncé news.Last night, Beyonce took her Mrs. Carter Show world tour to her hometown of Houston, and during the night’s performance she unveiled her March 2013 single "Bow Down"  for the first time in a live setting. The stage went dark, images of a young Bey with “Bow Down” over them appeared on giant screen, then it all went again before lighting up to reveal Beyoncé and a crew of dancers (all jumping around in stilettos, of course) ready to take the crowd by storm. People lost their minds, as did I when I realized I missed it, but luckily for all of us one fan in attendance captured the magic on video. You can view footage of “Bow Down” in Houston at the end of this post.
In a potentially related twist, a new video was added to the opening of Beyoncé's website last night that appears to tease an as-of-yet unreleased music video. This could possibly be a teaser for the long awaited “Bow Down / I Been On” video, but that cannot be confirmed at this time as the official clip has no sound. You can view the video on Bey’s website or below the performance clip at the end of this post (thanks to a rip from someone on YouTube). Whatever it is, you can rest assured I’ll update you as soon as more information becomes available.

Beyoncé pays tribute to Trayvon Martin

Beyoncé pays tribute to Trayvon Martin

Beyoncé pays tribute to the late teen Trayvon Martin at her concert in Nashville, in light of the recent George Zimmerman verdict. Saturday July 13 Beyoncé stopped in Tennessee on her Mrs. Carter Show tour for a night in Nashville. Right before her usual planned cover of Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You" at her show, Bey dedicated a moment of silence to the young Trayvon Martin saying, "I'd like to have a moment of silence for Trayvon." She then performed the Whitney cover song, fitting for the touching tribute. Beyoncé's concert that night started just about 30 minutes after 17-year-old Trayvon's shooter George Zimmerman was found 'not guilty' by a Florida jury in the shooting the teen. 29-year-old Zimmerman was charged with second-degree murder for fatally shooting Trayvon in Sanford, Florida February 2012. Since the 'not guilty' verdict, protests have spawned around the Country disappointed by the decision. And Beyonce is not the only one to react to the Trayvon trial, Nicki Minaj tweeted, "And our taxes paid  for that trial. We just paid to see a murderer walk free after killing an innocent unarmed little boy. #GodBlessAmerica". And rapper Young Jeezy posted a new song called "It's A Cold World (A Tribute to Trayvon Martin)" to his Facebook page. What are your thoughts on the Trayvon trial and do you like that celebrities have voiced their opinions on this controversial trial? check out the Bey's performance to Trayvon below.

Justin Timberlake debuts 1st single off of his "20/20 Experience Part 2" album!

Justin Timberlake debuts 1st single off of his "20/20 Experience Part 2" album!

Justin Timberlake gifts us a new single off his 2nd album this year, a track called "Take Back The Night"! To groove you into the weekend, Justin Timberlake has dropped a new single called "Take Back the Night" off his "The 20/20 Experience" Part II album coming September 30th. Yes, JT has another album coming this year after his already successful "The 20/20 Experience" which dropped March 19th. After teasing us on Wednesday this week with a snippet of the lead single off the Part II album, Justin dropped the full audio on his VEVO YouTube channel yesterday. The video is a combo of an announcement and the audio track all in one. It starts off as a silent black and white video recap of his releases this year. "Suit & Tie" was released January 14th, then song "Mirrors" on February 11th, then the album on March 19th, and now "Take Back the Night" gets its release today July 12th, 2013. At first glance the song appears to be a track about regretting a scandalous night out on the town but upon listening it's an uptempo funky beat song that I could easily hear Michael Jackson recording. There are hints of horn and a casual bass beat with a chorus that croons, "Take back the night/ Dizzy, spinning, sweating, you can't catch your breath/ Take back the night/ Ooh, don't know when the sun is rising next". So the track is actually about seizing the moment and living through the night with no cares. It's a nice change from "Mirrors" which is a slower romantic song. "The 20/20 Experience" Part II drops September 30th with 11 tracks including a "Special surprise" from Justin. He is hitting the road this summer with Jay-Z for the "Legends of the Summer" stadium tour. check out the song below.

Jay-Z 12th Studio Album

Jay-Z's 12th Studio Album "Magna Carta Holy Grail" Is In Stores Today!

Jay-Z's highly anticipated 12th album "Magna Carta... Holy Grail" has arrived, and im here breaking down what critics are saying and giving you my two cents on this hip hop masterpiece.  Today July 9th Jay-Z's "Magna Carta... Holy Grail" album is officially on the market for purchase, after being announced at an NBA Finals game just last month. The hip hop album has seen a massive Samsung brand backing, tons of TV ads, a scavenger hunt for the track list and even a Twitter Q&A from Jay himself. Not to mention all the big name collaborations on the record including wifey Beyoncé, BFF Justin Timberlake, Rick Ross, Frank Ocean and various featured producers. But Hov is now a Dad and a sports agent, so how is the album being received? MTV's Rob Markman pointed out the lyrical staying power of the album, "It all sounds great, but subsequent listens uncover thoughtful commentary and societal observation, lending to the album's replay value." While Chris Richards of The Washington Post wasn't very optimistic saying, "...musically and lyrically, "Magna Carta" is one of Jay-Z's blandest offerings. Over 16 joylessly professional tracks, our hero laces up his sneakers for his bazillion-thousandth victory lap around the hip-hop universe...It's the sound of champagne being sprayed around an empty locker room." A little harsh if you ask me. USA Today was more forgiving stating, "The music was more than worth the wait." Ok, so what's our take? We're pleased and you should be too! Jay gives us an eclectic bunch of tracks and beats. He talks about the value of money in "Picasso, Baby", contemplates himself as a Father in "JAY Z Blue", plays with electronic beats in fashion inspired song "Tom Ford", and raps about water with "Frank Ocean" on "Oceans". My favorite songs on the record would have to include Justin Timberlake collaboration "Holy Grail" which kinda sounds like a hip hop Coldplay song. I also admire Jay and Beyoncé getting together for tender love song "Part II" where Bey sings about love making and partnership. Which kinda sounds like a good contender for an "03 Bonnie & Clyde Part 2"  Overall, a cool and confident Jay-Z brings his family, friends, wealth to the music which is honest and I can respect that. I think "Magna Carta... Holy Grail" will continue to be talked about and produce some big hits, however no word yet on what the first single will be. Enough of me talking, comment below and tell me what's your favorite song on the album?!

Lady Gaga News on release date

Lady Gaga release date and various song rumors.
Lady Gaga had previously said  that her 3rd forthcoming album titled "ARTPOP" would be released sometime in 2013, and a good guess would be before September 30th so that she is eligible for the 2014 Grammys. if so she might debut a new song at the 2013 VMAs on August 25th this year, as she is rumored to be on the cover of Rolling Stone in September and named "Woman of the Year". As far as what single would hear- we aren't 100% sure. However, there is good indication that the first single will be called "TEA". "TEA" was confirmed as a song on the album last October when Gaga tweeted the lyrics, "its been oolong since I've had a sip and I get this feeling, I need a green detox the truth will be the winner tonight- from TEA on ARTPOP". Other confirmed tracks include "Sex Dreams" based on a tweet from Gaga, "Burqa" based on a tweet she sent to pal DJ Zedd saying, "been listening to **rq* all day" and later her Dad Joe Germanotta told fans that was his favorite on the album. "GUY (Girl Under You)" was confirmed as a feminist song produced by DJ Zedd. We also know Gaga recorded two tracks with Azealia Banks "Ratchet" and "Red Flame" but whose to know if they will make it on "ARTPOP". As far as the inspiration, it's rumored half the new tracks are motivated from her time in Indonesia while on tour. Gaga told a fan backstage at one of her concerts that "ARTPOP" is about a phoenix rising from ashes, and this is her first "real album". As for the sound, she has promised fans fun, dirty, dance music and has admitted there is a tremendous lack of maturity on the album. We can also suspect some type of film documentary from her photographer pal Terry Richardson to come some time in 2014. Little Monsters, I know you have a lot to say about all this, so tell me down in the comments other ARTPOP rumors you've heard! And I promise i will get you more info on the release as it comes in

Fantasia debuts new music video "Without Me"

She's back and fiercer than ever! American Idol winner Fantasia debuts her 2nd video "Without Me" off her 4th studio album "Side Effects of You". The addictive break-up clip shows Fantasia in a whole new light. She looks sexier than ever, and even pulls off the modest choreography that we usually don't see from her, and poses like a real diva. Check out the video below.
