Michelle Williams Releases New Gospel Single With Destiny's Child
It's been nearly a decade since a Destiny's Child music video graced our screens. Well, at long last, we've got a new one—sort of. We previously reported that Beyoncé and Kelly Rowland appeared on former bandmate Michelle Williams' single "Say Yes", taken from her upcoming gospel album Journey to Freedom.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Williams revealed that the "reunion"—which came together after her groupmates heard her single and loved it—was supposed to be kept secret. That changed as soon as the trio attempted a clandestine shoot for the song's visual in a residential area:
"We heard all this commotion going on while we were filming," Williams recalls."We filmed at somebody's house, and they probably got excited and called their cousins and friends and, next thing you know, the whole town was on one street... I woke up to the news of the song being leaked and I just hate when that happens because it was an unmastered version. At the same time, I was overwhelmed by the support. I know things happen for a reason. I don't want anyone to think I'm pissed. I'm not."
