Beyonce is planning to snatch the wigs and weaves off of all your faves to close out the year. Because multiple sources have told the New York Daily News, that Bey will release a new single on December 3rd. The same exact day Britney Spears new album "Britney Jean" drops, and several weeks after Lady Gaga and Katy Perry release their respective albums. And that timing couldn't be any more perfect. A source told the paper that Bey planned to release new music earlier this year but that she “kept pushing it back when she realized she wasn't going to have any real competition on the charts. Then she got wind of the jam-packed fall release calendar and dreamed up her pop-world power move.” If true, then Bey’s got a borderline sociopathic, determined drive to destroy the competition. The Queen is ruthless.
Beyonce has indeed been working on something. Back in August, she was
spotted hitting New York's Coney Island funfair to film a music video with photographer
Terry Richardson for the rumored song "XO". Earlier this week, as I reported in an earlier post Bey shot a music video again in a nuclear bumker in London's Greenham Common. At the Brazilian music festival "Rock In Rio" last month, Beyonce performed, and afterwards, she got back on stage and told her fans to chant the letters "XO" repeatedly. Possibly a hint towards the new single she's rumored to be dropping.
Plus, Beyonce has dropped a number of songs and/or song snippets over the past year and none of them have gained traction, despite being catchy: “Bow Down/I Been On,” “Grown Woman,” and “Standing On The Sun.”
Queen Bey is currently in the middle of her Mrs. Carter Show World Tour while keeping herself busy with working on her upcoming fifth studio album, whose release date is still being kept under the wraps.
